Not for chickens as is if you have the time and a extra$50.00 nice , I added latches so that I could separate each unit for easy cleaning and moving you will also need to block one exit from the main unit to allow egg laying a a roustI like the size of this item. Very roomy for my rabbits. I am using it indoors so I can not say whether it is good for the weather outside. My only disappointment was the wood is very soft and my bunnies are chewing it up rather quickly. So for the money spent I am afraid it is not going to last.I needed 2 coops for sick or broody hens.This is perfect!I did buy different latches that would more difficult for an animal to openWe have two rabbits in this hutch, and they seem quite happy with it. They run in a loop through the main house and up one ramp, down the other. They are able to spread out when they don’t want to be near each other. It was easy to assemble and seems sturdy. They hat feeder is tiny and got torn off almost immediately. Not sure it the rabbits put weight on it or if it was my kids when feeding, but I would skip screwing it on in hindsight. Only complaint is that I wish the bottom had pull out trays. The house section in top middle is the only part with pull out tray for cleaning, and of course it’s the only part the rabbits don’t pop or pee in. The bottom is just open so we put it on the porch instead of yard since the rabbits would just dig out. It does have a black sheet of hard plastic (similar to thick Mylar) that can go under to help protect floors. I wish it had either wire fencing on bottom or pull out drawers so it could either go in yard or be easier to clean. Otherwise it’s great. The size makes up for the bottom closure issue. Latches and dois are sturdy. Every is well made.I read a lot of reviews on different sites that said the material was high quality and this was a great product. I thought I would give it a shot so our three guinea pigs would have lots of running room. Just a heads up, the wood is cheap and easily broken, the chicken wire is as thin and cheap as possible, and the instructions have no words. Most of it is easy enough to assemble by yourself. I did it in 30 minutes, but there are a couple parts it would have been nice to have an explanation for. After assembly, the cage looks good and does hold up fine, but it is not animal proof. My two dogs barely put their noses to the cage too sniff it and the chicken wire on two of the doors pushed in. I am going to put a gate around the pen to prevent further damage. It's not a horrible pen for the price, but I might recommend spending more one made by quality craftsmen.It’s sturdy and easy to assemble but I don’t see how any pet even can live in such a small space. The space is very reduced due to the “two tier design”. Maybe for a mouse? Certainly not a rabbit or chicken.Priced a bit high for the quality of the materials
