Description

Sun Pottery Classic Ceramic 2-piece Bird Bath with Light Green finish has a Unique, strong, locking device (not plastic!). All of our glazed pottery and bird baths are fired in gas kilns. These are SIGNIFICANTLY more environmentally friendly than the large, standard, wood fired "Dragon" kilns used by most of our competitors. The "Dragon" kilns burn a huge amount of rubber-wood at each firing which is very bad for the environment and doesn't provide even firing for the product. Our gas Kilns ensure more even colors and better quality product because the temperature is controllable; unlike that in the wood fired kilns.

Features

Durable frostproof construction (up to -4 degrees f.)

    Light green finish

    Gas kiln fired

I ordered the Gardman Sun Pottery Ceramic Bird Bath just a few days ago and it arrived today. It was beautifully secured inside a sturdy box by styrofoam pieces custom shaped to fit this product and showed up in perfect condition. Upon removing it from the box I realized I had purchased the just right bath for my perennial garden. The quality of the ceramic casting was excellent as was the flawless glaze. This latter point is important, not just for appearance, but because it will facilitate cleaning to prevent disease among the bathers and drinkers. It will also prevent migration of moisture into the underlying ceramic which could promote cracking come winter. The shape and proportions are strictly traditional which is appropriate for a traditional perennial garden. Lastly, if you're sensitive to color as I am, the green has less yellow in it than what is pictured online and, to my eye, is much more attractive. I think most folks would be quite pleased with this purchase.
