The cuckoo clock is very light weight and wood. The clock is beautiful and looks very expensive. Small clock will fit anywhere. The bird cuckoo's and the wings flap which I think is cool. The man and the mill move and the music plays after the bird cuckoos. I would recommend this clock to everyone. It says it needs baby c batteries. A baby C battery is just a C battery. You can adjust the sound. The clock is not extremely loud. I leave it on high, it does not play so long that it interrupts conversation or television. I love my clock!
